Catholic University Sophomore Diego Rojas Sworn in for Second Term as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner
Catholic University sophomore Diego Rojas is set to be sworn in for his second term as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for District 5A-4 in Washington, D.C. Rojas, who was first elected at the age of 18, will be sworn in by Mayor Muriel Bowser on January 9.
Rojas, a native of D.C. who grew up in Florida, has been serving as ANC for the past year with a focus on public safety and community engagement. He has been actively involved in various projects, including the planning progress of the Conway School of Nursing and the new lighting project for the University’s baseball and softball fields.
In addition to his role as ANC, Rojas is a member of the men’s golf team and is involved in various student organizations at Catholic University. He credits his faith as a guiding force in his public service work, stating that his goal is to be the best Catholic and American that he can be.
Rojas’s dedication to community service and his commitment to making a positive impact on his district have earned him recognition as one of the youngest elected officials in the city. As he begins his second term, Rojas looks forward to continuing his work as a bridge between the University and the local community, striving to create a safer and more engaged neighborhood for all residents.
