Beloved Hot Springs Resident and Devoted Servant of Christ, Evelyn Biltz Elser, Passes Away at 92
Hot Springs, Ark. – The community of Hot Springs is mourning the loss of Evelyn (Ebby) Biltz Elser, a devoted servant of Christ and His Church, who passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the age of almost 92. Ebby, as she was affectionately known, lived a life dedicated to her faith, family, and service to others.
Born in Little Rock, Ark., on July 12, 1931, Ebby’s life was marked by her unwavering devotion to the Lord. She was a graduate of Mt. Saint Mary’s Academy and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, and worked as a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 20 years. Despite facing personal tragedy with the premature death of her husband in 1985, Ebby relied on her faith and family to navigate through the difficult times.
Throughout her life, Ebby was a pillar of strength and love for her nine children, 21 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She was a devout parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a dedicated adorer at the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel at St. John’s Catholic Church. Her influence extended beyond her family, as she touched the lives of many with her gentle nature, sense of humor, and unwavering faith.
Visitation for Ebby will be held on Wednesday, June 21, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 22, at St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church in Hot Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
Ebby’s legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she called home for 66 years.
