St. Jude’s Relic Tour Coming to Kearny: A Chance for Hope and Healing
**St. Jude’s Relic, Believed to be Bone from Arm, to Visit Kearny in December**
In a rare and exciting opportunity for Catholics in northern New Jersey, a relic believed to be a bone from the arm of St. Jude, the patron saint of hopeless causes, will be making its way to Kearny in December. The relic, encased in a centuries-old wooden vessel carved in the form of an arm bestowing a blessing, will be on public display at St. Stephen’s Church on December 11 from 1 to 10 p.m., with Mass at 7 p.m.
This relic, which is part of St. Jude’s first tour outside Italy, will also be available for public veneration at six other parishes within the Archdiocese of Newark. The tour schedule includes stops at the Church of the Assumption in Emerson, St. Joseph Church in Oradell, St. Helen Church in Westfield, St. Leo’s Church in Elmwood Park, and Our Lady of the Lake Church in Verona.
The relic’s visit is facilitated by Treasures of the Church, a ministry that partners with the Vatican to make relics accessible to Catholics worldwide. The Holy See specifically requested the St. Jude relic for its latest exposition, aiming to bring healing to those still struggling in the aftermath of COVID-19.
Visitors to the relic are encouraged to pray for healing and miracles, as St. Jude is associated with interceding in impossible situations. While physical contact with the relic is restricted, visitors can place personal items against the glass case surrounding the reliquary, transforming them into third-class relics. They can also hold pictures of loved ones against the glass to symbolically entrust them to St. Jude’s care.
The presence of the relic is expected to bring comfort and hope to all who visit. For more information on St. Jude’s U.S. relic tour, visit www.apostleoftheimpossible.com.
