Introducing the Uniservitate Membership Programme: Join the Global Network for Solidarity Service-Learning

Uniservitate, a global programme promoting Solidarity Service-Learning in Catholic Higher Education Institutions, has launched a new Membership programme. This initiative aims to expand the reach of the Uniservitate Global Network by providing members with access to training resources, global and regional exchange meetings, research grants, awards, and other benefits linked to solidarity Service-Learning.

The Membership programme is open to all Catholic and Catholic-inspired institutions of higher education. It is free of charge for institutions and valid for one year, with the option to renew at the end of the term. Institutions interested in joining can apply for membership until the end of May 2024, with membership confirmation expected by June of this year.

Maria Rosa Tapia, Uniservitate and Higher Education Coordinator, highlighted that the Membership initiative seeks to promote mutual support, exchange lessons learned, and collective empowerment by building regional networks. The current referents of the different regions of the world, known as hubs, will participate in evaluating institutions that apply for membership.

The Uniservitate global network, present on five continents through seven regional hubs, supports over 30 universities in institutionalizing Solidarity Service-Learning. This year, the network aims to incorporate new members to generate institutions more committed to their communities and impact public policies and systems.

Institutions interested in applying for membership can access the application form and contact information on the Uniservitate website. The programme is coordinated by CLAYSS and supported by Porticus, with the goal of promoting systemic change through the institutionalization of solidarity service-learning in higher education institutions.

Joining the Membership programme can provide institutions with valuable resources and opportunities to enhance their commitment to social change and community engagement.
