Iconographic Mural at Detroit Cristo Rey High School Celebrates Diverse Saints and Role Models
Cristo Rey teacher Jeremy Alexander has brought new life to the small chapel at Detroit Cristo Rey High School with his stunning iconographic mural. Featuring 37 saints, sainthood candidates, and role models, the mural is a diverse representation of figures that reflect the school’s values and community makeup. Completed in October, the mural is meant to inspire and uplift members of the school community as they pray and reflect in the chapel. Alexander’s dedication to this project and the meaningful inclusion of various figures have created a beautiful and impactful addition to the school’s spiritual space. Students, faculty, and visitors alike are sure to be moved by the stories and representation depicted in this stunning mural.
