Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton Gives Thanks to Retired Priests and Clergy at Special Mass and Luncheon
The Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton recently led a special Mass to give thanks for retired priests and clergy who are no longer in full-time ministry. The Mass, held at the Pastoral Centre Chapel in Highgate on Thursday, November 16, was attended by several retired priests, as well as other clergy members.
During the Mass, Bishop Sproxton spoke about the importance of retired clergy continuing to be engaged in the lives of the people they were ordained to serve. He highlighted the generosity and willingness of retired clergy to provide support and ministry when needed, emphasizing the impact they have had across the Archdiocese.
Reflecting on the ministry of Jesus, Bishop Sproxton discussed the presence of God in our lives and the opportunities for renewal and growth that each day brings. He expressed gratitude for the Lord’s presence in helping us to keep growing in faith and trust.
Bishop Sproxton also thanked Episcopal Vicar for Clergy, the Very Rev Fr Minh Thuy Nguyen, and his team for their support of both active and non-active priests and clergy in the Archdiocese.
The Mass was a time of reflection, gratitude, and celebration of the continued service and dedication of retired priests and clergy members.
