University of San Diego Hosts Inaugural Catholic Schools Night Ahead of Catholic Schools Week
The University of San Diego is gearing up for an early celebration of Catholic Schools Week with a special event on Saturday, Jan. 26. The university will host Catholic Schools Night during the West Coast Conference men’s basketball game against the University of San Francisco.
This inaugural event will bring together students, parents, teachers, and administrators from the San Diego Catholic Diocese’s 49 schools for a night of fun and entertainment on campus. The USD Athletics Department, Undergraduate Admissions Office, University Ministry, and Alumni Relations have all joined forces to make this event a success.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including a college-planning workshop for high school students, a bounce house, face painting, and a pre-game reception for teachers who are USD alumni. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in special activities during the game, such as creating a high-five line for the basketball players and competing in a free-throw shooting contest.
“We are thrilled to host Catholic Schools Night at USD and showcase our campus to the local community,” said Marcy Lanoue, senior associate director of athletics. “This event is a true partnership with the Diocese and a great opportunity for families to experience a college atmosphere.”
With over 800 attendees expected for the event, organizers are excited about the potential for growth in the coming years. Catholic Schools Night at USD promises to be a memorable evening of community engagement and celebration.
