Bozoma Saint John Discusses Career Pivot and Future Plans at EMILY’s List Oscars Week Discussion

Bozoma Saint John, the former chief marketing officer of Netflix, made a striking appearance at the EMILY’s List Oscars Week Discussion in Los Angeles, California. Despite her recent exit from the streaming giant, Saint John exuded confidence and grace as she took the stage in a neon pink jumpsuit, captivating the audience with her presence.

In a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Saint John addressed the rumors and criticisms surrounding her departure from Netflix. She acknowledged the attention her personal brand has garnered and defended her authenticity, stating, “I live out loud. I recognize that there are not a lot of Black women who are in these positions. Do I wish that sometimes I could be ‘just like everyone else’? Of course, who doesn’t want to be? But the truth of the matter is, I’m not.”

Despite the speculation about friction with Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos over a potential move to Paris, Saint John clarified that Paris was never an issue and expressed her love for the city. She also hinted at taking a break and exploring new opportunities, including writing a memoir about her late husband’s battle with cancer.

With her impressive background in marketing and a passion for the industry, Saint John hinted at a possible return to the field in the future. However, she also expressed interest in politics, citing her father’s political background in Ghana and her current involvement with the president of Ghana on diaspora affairs.

As Saint John continues to navigate her next steps, her appearance at the EMILY’s List event showcased her resilience and determination to make a meaningful impact, whether in marketing, politics, or beyond. With her unwavering commitment to authenticity and empowerment, Bozoma Saint John remains a force to be reckoned with in the world of business and beyond.
