Beatification Process Commencement for Patriarch Lubomyr Husar Announced by His Beatitude Sviatoslav

The beatification process of Patriarch Lubomyr Husar has officially begun, announced His Beatitude Sviatoslav during a special ceremony marking the end of the Year of Patriarch Lubomyr. The proclamation was made on the 91st anniversary of his birth, highlighting the impact of his words and spirit on the lives of many, especially during times of conflict.

Patriarch Lubomyr passed away on May 31, 2017, and since then, his tomb has become a place of reverence and prayer for believers seeking his intercession. The decision to initiate the beatification process was driven by the numerous appeals from individuals and communities who have witnessed signs of holiness through his memory.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav appointed Pavlo Lokot as the postulator for the beatification and canonization process, urging all faithful to report any favors received through Patriarch Lubomyr’s intercession.
